Recon Sparkies

The Sparkie was the first version of the Recon Drone to be produced for combat purposes. Before their introduction into the army, they served as simple reconnaissance, but the speed at which the enemy forces advanced and came into contact with these machines forced them into a duel purpose. The Sparkie is lighter and less protected than its variant but this allows it to maneuverer with greater speed and react fast enough to evade enemy actions. Their weapon, although not as fearsome as the Hellbore Assault Rifle can still pack a punch. In addition to their primary function, which sees matter shredded in sparks of white light, the residual effects linger on any surviving target, disrupting shielding and defences, making them easy targets for other units. Outside of battle, Sparkies have been rumoured to act strangely, often approaching civilians or other biological lifeforms in an unusual manner and deviation from their programming. It is not known why they exhibit this behavior but one of the strangest occurrences reported was of a Sparkie hurling itself into a geothermal reservoir. The drone of course did not survive but many onlookers reported unusual noises coming from it before the event. Apparently, it was almost like someone humming a song.
