All hope was gone.
Magmanon’s mighty cannons had fallen silent, yet the Asylumists continued to pour over the battlements. From building to building, bunker to bunker and house to house, the remaining soldiers of the Coalition fought to their final breath. Every weapon had been distributed. The last orders had been given.
They would fight to the end.
The third wall collapsed beneath the advancing swarm, its cannons tumbling into the burning wreckage below. Only a few thousand exhausted soldiers remained between the Asylumists and the city itself—a solitary pebble before an incoming sea.
Jets and carriers spun through the dark clouds overhead. Artillery split the sky, sending round after round into the sprawling mass, but nothing could halt its advance. The Coalition’s empire would not fall to its ancient enemies, the Guardians, but to frenzied creatures born from nightmare.
As the wave reached the soldiers waiting in their trenches, a mighty roar erupted behind them. Smoke rolled across the battlefield, and within it, a field of red eyes flickered to life.
Then the Tin Men emerged.
The answer to every soul’s prayers marched out of the smog. Hellbore Cannons rose in destructive unison, their barrels glowing hot as they opened fire. Merciless and fearless, the machines thundered over the trenches and into the advancing enemy. Wherever their cannons pointed, the Asylumists fell.
The Tin Men had arrived—and Magmanon would not fall that day.
A gift from the almighty Council, the Tin-Men MK2 now serve as the Confederation’s principal mechanical infantry. They obey without question, require neither food nor rest, and can be replaced far more easily than an organic soldier.
Often deployed alongside the Gritguard, Tin Men absorb casualties that the Confederation could not otherwise endure. Against enemies possessing seemingly limitless numbers, these disposable machines bring an endless force of their own.
Constructed as efficiently as possible and powered by advanced Fizion Generators, the Tin Men are officially considered less important than a soldier’s life. Their immense firepower and ability to calculate battlefield tactics faster than many organic lifeforms nevertheless make them formidable instruments of Confederation warfare.
