The Confederation

Convict Drones

To say the Council is not without mercy is only foolish propaganda driven by those who would seek to bring ruin to our lives. You need only look upon the Convict Drones to see the Councils generosity and will to give all a second chance. Within the mechanisms and carapace stands a disgraced member of our fair society. What crimes they have committed are no longer important as they seek to redeem themselves now in service. Those that serve faithfully on the front lines may even once again take their rightful place back within our mighty Confederation. As the Council brought the traitors of the civil uprising to heel it became clear that not all of those in their charge would be grateful for their protection and wisdom. In the first years of the establishing of the Confederation, the Council was faced with a few uprisings. Although those involved were swiftly dealt with,it became apparent that the loss of life, regardless of that life being deplorable or not, was still wasteful. The Council began work on the idea of Rehabilitating criminals by having them serve in the most dangerous tasks against the enemy where they could do no harm as they sought forgiveness. Convicts fitted with the control carapace so symbolic of the Convict Drones began to see service in the year 1215 AZ and proved to be a visionary idea still in use today. The convicts use the information relayed to them to achieve their tasks, the mechanisms of the advanced armor to survive, and the will of the Council to seek favor on the front lines. The armor itself is more of a control mechanism than a protection factor. The carapace fits over the torso intersecting cybernetics with the major organs and the nervous system. The exoskeleton ensures that the wearer’s actions are monitored and, if necessary manipulated, to ensure that instructions are carried out to the letter. Service will be carried out, with or without the wearers approval. In the rare circumstances a Convicts will overcomes the armor, the devices simply shut down, ensuring the vital organs of the wearer do the same.
