Core Rule
When terrain collapses and triggers Crush, resolve Crush against each affected unit.
An affected unit is a unit with one or more models in, on, or under the collapsing terrain when Crush resolves.
Models merely touching the terrain are not affected unless they are also in, on, or under it.
If no units are affected, the terrain can collapse without causing damage.
Crush Dice
For each affected unit, that unit's controller rolls a number of D6 equal to the terrain's pre-reduction Cover value.
Use the Cover value the terrain had before the triggering vehicle traversal reduced it.
If the terrain had Cover 0 before the triggering reduction, roll 0 Crush dice.
Non-Vehicle Units
Crush is a special terrain-damage procedure, not a shooting attack.
Crush does not use:
- Target Lock
- Line of Sight
- Cover
- Target Limit
For each Crush die that equals or exceeds the affected unit's Resolve, that unit suffers 1 normal damage.
Only eligible affected models can be assigned damage from Crush.
Eligible affected models are models from that unit that are in, on, or under the collapsing terrain when Crush resolves.
The affected unit's controller assigns Crush damage to eligible affected models.
Vehicles
Against a vehicle, compare each Crush die directly to the vehicle's modified Shield and modified Shield + Resolve.
Crush has no Force value unless another rule explicitly gives it one.
For each Crush die:
- If the result is lower than the vehicle's modified Shield, no vehicle damage is caused.
- If the result is equal to or greater than the vehicle's modified Shield, apply Minor System Damage.
- If the result is equal to or greater than the vehicle's modified Shield + Resolve, apply Major System Damage and the vehicle loses 1 HP.
Use core/vehicles/vehicle_damage.md for system damage tracking and vehicle destruction.
Collapsed Terrain
Collapsed terrain remains obstruction terrain with Cover 0 unless a scenario or terrain rule says otherwise.
