Special Rules
Recon
Recon supports nearby friendly Mechanized units. When the Recon unit can see and reach their target, the Mechanized unit's ranged weapons gain Auto or improve their Rate of Fire if they already have Auto.
How Recon works
Recon is a Confederation army-package special rule.
When a friendly Mechanized unit resolves a ranged attack, each ranged weapon used by that Mechanized unit gains Auto for that attack if the target unit is within both the range of at least one ranged weapon of a friendly unit with Recon and that Recon unit's Line of Sight.
If a ranged weapon used for that attack already has Auto, increase that weapon's RoF by +1 for that attack instead.
Check Recon when the Mechanized unit resolves the ranged attack. The Recon unit does not need to be the attacking unit unless another rule says so. The Recon unit does not make an attack or spend ammunition for this check.
Recon does not change target legality, range, Line of Sight requirements for the attacking unit, Cover, Target Lock, damage, damage allocation, or removal timing unless another rule explicitly states otherwise.
Example
A unit or weapon with Recon meets the rule's stated condition. When a friendly Mechanized unit resolves a ranged attack, each ranged weapon used by that Mechanized unit gains Auto for that attack if the target unit is within both the range of at least one ranged weapon of a friendly unit with Recon and that Recon unit's Line of Sight. Once those steps are complete, play continues normally.
