Recon Drones – Confederation Unit
The success of the Tin Men gave the Council permission to pursue what had once been forbidden: the large-scale production of mechanical soldiers.
Before the events outside Magmanon—where the Tin Men prevented the complete annihilation of the Coalition forces in the North—such creations were condemned as abominations. For years, the Council conducted its work in secrecy, hidden within the lower and less habitable levels of the great cities. Its members spoke only in whispers, knowing that discovery could bring imprisonment or execution.
The Council’s victory over the Primarshal’s Coalition brought that secrecy to an end. With absolute authority over the newly formed Confederation, restraint was no longer necessary. Experiments once considered unthinkable became the foundation of a new society.
Life within the cities changed almost overnight. Citizens were required to accept the Council’s rule and embrace cybernetics and artificial intelligence as the new order. Those who resisted faced exile or death. Those who demonstrated promise and obedience were recruited into the Council’s secret service, implanted with surveillance systems and concealed weapons to become its eyes and ears.
The Recon Drones, alongside the Convict Drones, were the creations of I—the self-proclaimed Head of Law and Order within the Confederation.
Designed to advance ahead of the approaching Tin Men, Recon Drones rapidly reach contested areas and transmit vital information for analysis. Their findings can then be incorporated into the Council’s developing battle plan. Armed with powerful short-range Hellbore Rifles, they are also capable of delivering fast, concentrated attacks against exposed targets.
Every drone required a compact, responsive processor. I determined that an organic brain would suffice.
Suitable specimens are removed directly from the heads of criminals considered compliant enough for service—with or without their permission.
These highly detailed sci-fi resin miniatures combine cold Confederation engineering with the disturbing remnants of their unwilling organic processors. Their exposed machinery, integrated weapons and unsettling humanoid components make the Recon Drones a distinctive addition to any VoidSiege Confederation force.
