Declaration Trigger
Shoot may be declared during a unit’s normal command window.
Resolution Timing
Shoot resolves using the normal command timing rules.
Targeting
Shoot requires a legal enemy target.
The target must be legal when the command resolves.
Resolution
When Shoot resolves:
- Select or confirm a legal target.
- Resolve the attack using the normal shooting rules.
Restrictions Applied
After Shoot resolves, apply:
- Shoot
Cannot Be Declared If
Shoot cannot be declared if:
- the unit already has the Shoot restriction
- the unit has no legal target
- the unit is otherwise ineligible to make a shooting attack
Notes
- Shoot does not redefine the shooting engine. Use
core/shooting.mdandcore/ranged_weapons.md. - If no legal target exists when Shoot resolves, the command fails unless another rule states otherwise.
- Use
timing/command_timing.mdfor declaration and response timing.
