Table Setup

Follow the steps in the Setup section in ../setup/setup_rules.md.

After rolling off to decide who goes first, place six tokens.

Place 2 tokens along the centre line of the table, at least 12" apart. The player going first places the first centre-line token, then the opposing player places the second centre-line token.

Each player places 1 objective anywhere within their 12" deployment zone, at least 6" away from any table edge. The player going first places their deployment-zone objective first.

Finally, both players place a token between the objectives already placed, at least 6" away. The player going first places the first token in this step.

A player may not place their objectives within their opponent's half.

Unit Setup

The player going first deploys first.

Use the model coherency and unit spacing requirements from Battle Formations in scenario_modules.md.

Deployment must occur within 12" of the controlling player's table edge.

After this, the opposing player deploys their units under the same restrictions.

If all units cannot be placed within 12", the player must deploy them by placing a single model from the unit at their table edge.

Once that unit is activated, deploy the rest of the unit after the placed model has moved away.

These units cannot interact with any other unit, friend or foe, until they have fully deployed.

Special Rules

No Mans Land

At the end of the game, players gain Victory Points for having any unit within 2" of an objective that has no enemy units within 2".

Each player scores objectives by distance from their own deployment zone toward the opponent's deployment zone:

  • The objective within that player's own deployment zone grants 1 Victory Point.
  • The nearest middle objective grants 2 Victory Points.
  • The next middle objective grants 3 Victory Points.
  • The next middle objective grants 4 Victory Points.
  • The final middle objective grants 5 Victory Points.
  • The objective in that player's opponent's deployment zone grants 6 Victory Points.

For each player, read this scoring ladder from that player's own table edge toward the opponent's table edge.

Starting Victory Points

Both players start with Victory Points equal to the game size.

For example, a 5 Threat game starts each player with 5 Victory Points.

Destroyed Units

If all models in a unit are destroyed, that unit's controlling player loses 1 Victory Point immediately.

Unlimited Power

When a unit is destroyed, the controlling player may immediately redeploy it on their table edge.

For Unlimited Power, an objective a player holds means an objective that player controls.

Any objectives that player holds are also treated as that player's table edge for deployment and Rally commands for all friendly units.

Victory Conditions

Winner Takes It All

At the end of Turn 3, the player with the most Victory Points wins.

Annihilation

Use Annihilation from scenario_modules.md.
