How Piercing works

Each successful damage roll from an attack with Piercing generates one additional damage die as part of that same attack.

  • Roll the additional damage die using the same damage value as the original damage roll, such as Resolve, Shield, modified Shield, or another value used by the attack.
  • The additional damage die can cause damage normally.
  • Piercing-generated dice inherit the original attack's Target Limit, eligible models, damage allocation, and removal timing.
  • Piercing-generated dice do not increase the attack's Target Limit.
  • Piercing-generated dice cannot trigger further Piercing dice.

Example

A unit or weapon with Piercing meets the rule's stated condition. Each successful damage roll from an attack with Piercing generates one additional damage die as part of that same attack. Once those steps are complete, play continues normally.
