How Will Of The Masters works

Will of the Masters is a Masters faction or named-unit special rule.

When this unit is assigned a command during its normal activation, you may remove one active command restriction from this unit before checking whether that restriction prevents the assigned command.

If you remove a restriction this way, immediately make one Resolve test for this unit before the assigned command is declared or resolved.

For each point by which the test roll exceeds this unit's modified Resolve, remove one model from this unit.

Models removed by Will of the Masters are removed as the cost of this rule. This removal is not damage, does not become Sustained Damage, and does not change Critical Damage, damage allocation, or normal removal timing unless another rule explicitly states otherwise.

After resolving the cost, check command eligibility using the unit's current restrictions and current models.

Example

A unit or weapon with Will Of The Masters meets the rule's stated condition. Will of the Masters is a Masters faction or named-unit special rule. Once those steps are complete, play continues normally.
