Billions of sentient lifeforms awake on the planet with no prior memory of where they are from, how they came to be in their location, or even if Sythopia is their planet of origin.

The event known as “The Awakening” is still shrouded in mystery despite the level of technology available. Many theories have been proposed but very little is certain. What is known is that during the event, billions of sentient beings awoke all across the planet with no recollection of what came before. Of the billions, many were different species, races, and creeds but all experienced the joint amnesia. Oddly it appears from historical documentation that the loss of memory did not affect skills and most, if not all, were still able to communicate, utilize tools and survival techniques. Whatever happened before the awakening, or even if any of us are native to this world, for now, remains in question.
