Special Rules

Escort

Escort links this unit to one friendly unit chosen before the game. While they remain within 2 inches, the Escort follows that unit's Move, Run and Overrun commands without becoming part of the escorted unit.

Choosing the escorted unit

Before the game begins, choose the friendly unit this model will escort. The choice cannot be changed during the game unless another rule specifically allows it.

If the unit profile names a unit in brackets after Escort, the chosen unit must match that name or type. If it says Escort (Unit Name) as a placeholder, choose any one friendly unit.

Following movement commands

While this unit is within 2 inches of the escorted unit, it also carries out these commands when they are assigned to the escorted unit:

  • Move
  • Run
  • Overrun

If one of those commands is being used as a Charge, this unit is also treated as charging.

What Escort does not change

The Escort does not become part of the escorted unit. It continues to handle its own targeting, Command Tokens, restrictions, damage, model removal, scoring, Threat Cost, and weapons.

If the Escort moves more than 2 inches from the escorted unit, it stops sharing movement commands until it comes within 2 inches again.

Example

Before the game, a model with Escort (Unit Name) chooses a friendly Butchers unit to escort. While the Escort is within 2 inches, a Move command assigned to the Butchers also moves the Escort. The Escort remains a separate unit and keeps its own Command Tokens, restrictions, weapons, and damage.
