Fissure
Fissure changes how many normal damage dice are rolled for each successful Target Lock. Use whichever is higher: the target unit's modified Resolve or the number of models currently in that unit, with a maximum determined by the normal rules.
How Fissure works
Fissure is a ranged weapon special rule.
When resolving normal damage for this weapon, replace the number of damage dice rolled for each successful Target Lock with the higher of:
- the target unit's modified Resolve
- the number of models currently in the target unit when damage is resolved
Against vehicles, use the vehicle's modified Shield instead of modified Resolve.
Fissure changes only the number of damage dice rolled. It does not change Target Lock, Critical Damage, Target Limit, eligible models, damage allocation, Sustained Damage, or removal timing unless another rule explicitly states otherwise.
Example
A unit or weapon with Fissure meets the rule's stated condition. When resolving normal damage for this weapon, replace the number of damage dice rolled for each successful Target Lock with the higher of: Once those steps are complete, play continues normally.
