Declaration Trigger

Shoot may be declared during a unit’s normal command window.

Resolution Timing

Shoot resolves using the normal command timing rules.

Targeting

Shoot requires a legal enemy target.

The target must be legal when the command resolves.

Resolution

When Shoot resolves:

  1. Select or confirm a legal target.
  2. Resolve the attack using the normal shooting rules.

Restrictions Applied

After Shoot resolves, apply:

  • Shoot

Cannot Be Declared If

Shoot cannot be declared if:

  • the unit already has the Shoot restriction
  • the unit has no legal target
  • the unit is otherwise ineligible to make a shooting attack

Notes

  • Shoot does not redefine the shooting engine. Use core/shooting.md and core/ranged_weapons.md.
  • If no legal target exists when Shoot resolves, the command fails unless another rule states otherwise.
  • Use timing/command_timing.md for declaration and response timing.
