Ramming Speed

Ramming Speed is a standalone vehicle command that replaces Overrun for vehicles.

Ramming Speed counts as Overrun for Snap Fire and other rules that trigger when an enemy uses Overrun.

Declaration Trigger

Ramming Speed may be declared during the vehicle's normal activation.

Resolution Timing

Ramming Speed resolves using the normal command timing rules.

Targeting

Ramming Speed does not require a target.

Resolution

When Ramming Speed resolves:

  1. The vehicle may move up to double its Move value.
  2. Resolve that movement using normal movement rules except where vehicle rules explicitly modify them.
  3. Use core/vehicles/vehicle_terrain.md for vehicle terrain traversal, terrain Cover reduction, terrain collapse, Crush triggers, and moving through or over models.

Restrictions Applied

After Ramming Speed resolves, apply:

  • Shoot
  • Run

Cannot Be Declared If

Ramming Speed cannot be declared if:

  • the vehicle already has any restriction this command applies
  • the vehicle is otherwise ineligible to perform Ramming Speed

Explicit Exclusions

Ramming Speed is not a Charge, attack, or melee rule.

Moving through or over models during Ramming Speed does not cause damage, displacement, melee, engagement, removal, or any other effect unless another rule explicitly states otherwise.

Ramming Speed does not allow the vehicle to move through or over engaged models unless another rule explicitly permits it.

Terrain self-damage to the vehicle is not defined in this Ramming Speed rule.

Overcharge

Overcharge replaces Defend, Ditch, and Rally for vehicles.

  • Overcharge may be declared as a command in response to a shooting attack that targets the vehicle.
  • Overcharge resolves before the triggering shooting attack reaches Target Lock.
  • For that triggering attack, the vehicle's Shield resets to its unmodified Shield value until the attack is resolved.
  • Target Lock rolls lower than the vehicle's Resolve automatically fail.

Overkill

Overkill replaces Covering Fire for vehicles.

  • Overkill uses the same command restrictions as Covering Fire.
  • The vehicle ignores Field of Fire and facing restrictions for this attack.
  • The vehicle may fire all of its weapons at one target.
  • Overkill does not bypass range, legal target checks, Line of Sight where not otherwise overridden, Target Lock, Cover, damage, or command restrictions.
