Terrain

Terrain is ground-level cover that units can stand on, with each model's base resting on it.

Examples include rubble, craters, and the bottom floors of buildings.

Scenery

Scenery is cover that rises up from the battlefield and can block movement, block Line of Sight, or create additional floors or levels.

Examples include walls, buildings, and other raised battlefield structures.

Terrain And Scenery Cover

Terrain and scenery may grant Cover when the relevant Cover requirements are met.

Default Cover values are defined by the terrain piece, scenery piece, scenario, table setup, or another rule.

Stable Ground

A model may only be placed where it can stand upright and remain stable.

If a model cannot stand upright where it is placed, it cannot remain in that position.

If a model falls after its unit's command has resolved because the placement was not stable, that model is Stunned and its unit suffers 1 point of damage.

Players cannot intentionally knock over an opponent's models to trigger Stable Ground.

Accidental bumps or nudges do not trigger Stable Ground.

Notes

  • Use core/movement.md for movement through or over battlefield features.
  • Use core/stunned.md for Stunned.
